Recently there was a discussion amongst VAs about GST (goods and services tax) and whether it should be assumed it’s included or not when negotiating rates with subcontractors. It’s happening again! Apparently now some UK companies are letting the team down by plagiarising content, taking business names of established businesses and their URLs – or something very close thereto – and swiping content. I haven’t really noticed any change to my practice since the beginning of the economic downturn but I have heard a number of small business owners and Virtual Assistants of late saying that work is dropping off and/or they’ve ‘lost’ clients, blaming in part the economic downturn.
